Connecting With the Law of Attraction

In the 21st century, especially this technology filled 2011, it can be difficult to connect with your inner source as opposed to your electronic one. It seems as if everywhere we turn there are iPhones, Blackberry's, iPads, cell phones, laptops, touch screens, email, texting, IM’ing and the like. The question is, are we really connecting with ourselves and others, or just connecting with technology?
Connection, that’s really what we’re talking about when it comes to the Law of Attraction. Connecting with our source. However, connecting with our source can sound a lot easier than it actually tends to be. Chances are you know what the Law of Attraction is, or have at least heard of it. Although you might be surprised at how many people on the planet still have no idea what it is or how to tap into it. I know there have been times in my life where I was so connected it seemed that whatever I wanted and asked for, magically appeared in my life. Of course, there have been others when it seemed like everything I didn’t want showed up at every turn.
The quick and easy explanation for the Law of Attraction is: feelings have vibrations or vibrational frequencies. Good, happy feelings have high vibrations while the opposite, bad feelings, have low vibrations. Have you ever heard of the snowball effect? An example would be when a day starts off badly and continues to get worse and worse as the day goes on. Similar to a snowball rolling down a hill, the further it goes the bigger it gets. The same can hold true of bad vibrations. The more bad feelings you have, the more bad things happen and the worse your day gets. That’s because like attracts like. When you have negative or bad feelings you keep getting more and more of the same. However, the opposite can be true as well. When you have good feelings, you’re sending out high vibrations therefore more and more good things flow your way. Of course, there are other times when you can start off feeling negative things and turn it around and feel good therefore, shifting the energy and opening the high vibrational channel which allows good to flow to you. Surely, if you think hard enough, you can remember a time that a day started off terribly and you were able to turn it around and shift it to become a great day. More than likely, the day started off badly, but you didn't let it get to you or somehow you were able to maintain a positive disposition, allowing the day to end up great. Again, like attracts like, so what you feel, you can most definitely make real.
Therefore the question is, how can you shift your vibrations to work for you, instead of against you? What can you do to keep the good vibes flowing even when bad things happen? That's a great question. I have often heard it be asked, “Why is it that so often people have to hit rock bottom before they can pick themselves up again?” The answer is, you get what you focus on and what you focus on creates a feeling and that feeling has a vibration. When you are falling it’s very common to focus on the bottom as you’re moving toward it. The feeling of panic, fear, failure, loss or losing etc, are all negative feelings therefore, creating more of the same feeling, hence attracting more of the same things you do not want. However, once you are at the bottom the only way to look is up, and that feels good. That good, high vibrational feeling, creates good things to show up in your life.
Now, let’s get into the how. HOW do you tap into the Law of Attraction? For starters, it’s important to really understand that all feelings send out some kind of a vibration and we all have something that makes us feel happy or feel good. Now, think of what makes you smile and feel real genuine honest to goodness happy. What is it? Take a moment to think about all the things that make you happy. Do you have a song that you love, a childhood memory, an adult memory, a picture that just makes you smile when you look at it? For some it may be the day they got married or the day their kids were born. For others it may be the day they graduated from college or got that big promotion. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it makes you smile and feel really, really good. That good feeling will create a good vibration to be sent out to the universe. If what you send out is a high vibration, what you get back will be of the same or similar vibration.
Over the years I have worked with many different formulas to make the Law of Attraction work for me. I have found that there is a four step process that allows me to change my feelings and attract what I want into my life.
Step one: Identify your current reality. No matter how bad it seems or how bad it feels, be honest and say or write what you currently have and do not want. It’s really important to release that which you don’t want. Sometimes just naming it out loud or putting it on paper, in and of itself, makes you feel better. Regardless, you have to know what you have and don’t want in order to let it go.
Step two: Say or write what you do want. Tell the universe what you want. Stake your claim and list in detail what you desire.
Step three: Imagine how you would feel if you had what you want. This can be difficult. Sometimes you can have a hard time feeling good about something you want, but don’t already have. Just knowing you don’t have it can make you feel badly and experience a sense of lack. This is when you need to tap into your happy thought. That thing that makes you feel good and smile - think about it, feel it and smile. The song that makes you get up and dance - play it, feel it and smile. The memory that makes you smile or that joke, movie, or recollection that makes you laugh out loud - remember it, feel it and smile. Whatever it takes, right here, right now, feel good!
Step four: Do whatever it takes to laugh, smile and feel good for as long as you can, as often as you can. Anytime you are feeling anything less than great, shift your thoughts to things that make you laugh smile and feel good. If you feel bad or negative, you are sending out low vibrations and you will attract more of what you don’t want to you. Get out and away from the negative and feel that positive feeling and you will attract more of the good to you.
This process will remind you to pay attention to how you are feeling and give you a way to focus your attention on what you do want instead of what you don't. The worst case scenario is, you’ll feel more positive simply because you are thinking of something that makes you happy. That feeling will send out high vibrations and those high vibrations will bring you more of what you want and less of what you don’t.
Remember, the Law of Attraction is always working. The trick is to make it work for you. You and your feelings are what create your reality so, your feelings and vibrations are all up to you.
