A Note from the Publisher

July - August 2012

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!

No matter our challenges as a nation, how very proud I am to call you my home.

Dearest Readers:

We have just celebrated Midsummer in this most auspicious year, 2012. We have six months to go until we reach the absolute end of this age. We will be entering, on 12-21-2012, an entirely new dimension of life and light. If we are paying close attention, we can already see that everything about the light is different. The Sun's light is a different color, and it's rays feel different on the skin. Strong winds (of change) are much more prevalent, this year, as they act to sweep us into a place of higher energies. Time itself continues to feel accelerated in its passage. It is like the Universe is hurrying us along, trying to get us up to speed before the age comes to a close.

“The bad news is time flies.
The good news is you’re the pilot.”

This summer is the perfect time to take a personal inventory of those things you'd like to complete or achieve by the end of 2012. Are you in the middle of writing a book, or starting up a new business? Perhaps you are trying to lose weight, or reinvent your career. Regardless of what your goals and priorities might be, the Universe is now signaling us to kick it up a notch! It is time to roll up our sleeves and jump...right into the middle of our lives. No more procrastination. No more lack of faith, in ourselves or the Divine. No more waiting for someone else to make the first move. We are in the home stretch of the race of the ages. What habits do you need to leave behind or embrace with all your heart? What character traits do you wish to cultivate? What kind of legacy do you really want to leave? My friends, it is time for some very serious self-reflection. We all have a lot of inner work to do before the end of this auspicious year.

"Live up to the best that is in you: Live noble lives, as you all may, in whatever
condition you may find yourselves."

~Henry W. Longfellow

In my world, I quite often I find myself embroiled in private conversations on the subject of personal responsibility. Many so-called “spiritual people” think that turning the direction of their lives over to destiny is the only way to live responsibly. I’m not so sure about that myself. In my opinion, being personally responsible means, first of all, that we identify ourselves as the architects of our personal reality. I believe we alone are the writer, director, cinematographer, producer and shining star of our own unique saga. This is not to say that unexpected dramas, crises and people won’t assail our production with stultifying acts of deceit and unkindness, from time to time. Yet, it is not what happens to us that is most important in life, but rather what we do with what happens to us that truly matters.

Life certainly has handed me a bushel full of lemon’s over the rugged course of the last few years, and I can proudly say that as a result of the many challenges and setbacks, I’ve nearly perfected my recipe for Lemon Pie. And here it is:

L - Leave the past far behind you
E -  Enjoy every precious moment
M - Make videos of special occasions
O -  Open your heart a little more each day
N -  Never stop looking for the good in everyone

P - Process your pain: don’t hide from it
I -  Infuse your life with integrity and forgiveness
E– Effect regular changes...stagnation is boring!

When all is finally said and done, our greatest contribution to this world ( our true legacy) will be the love we have given and received in our lifetime. So, let’s all vow to be filthy-rich Love Barons from this day forward!

“ Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
 - Lao Tzu

Peace and blessings,
